Norton Seniors Soccer Club fields five teams in the NOASA
(North Ohio Amateur Soccer Associoation) soccer league
system. The Club now has approximately 80 to 90 playing
members at ages 30 and up. The basic goal is to have fun and
be competitive in the leagues we field teams. As of lately
the reqruiting to the club has been well over average and
plenty of new players have arrived the last two years. In
2006 we saw the biggest number of new reqruits signing up
for our teams in the men's divisions. The result was that we
had to sign up two teams in the Over 30 divisions. Now we
have two teams in the Men Over 30 divisions and two teams in
the Men Over 40 divisions. With this setup we can provide
soccer fun for all players with all levels of ambition and
skills. And that is probably the reason why the club has had
such a success in the reqruitment side of the game. The club
has evolved into a club that people seek to become a member,
simply because no matter the skill level and ambition level
there's always a place for you at Norton Seniors Soccer
Club. Sadly the Open
Mens division was closed down before the new 2006 season,
due to the lack of teams for that age group. We hope that
the next generation, which is huge, will provide enough
young players to man enough teams to inspire NOASA to
re-schedule leagues in the Open Mens division. NSSC will
then reqruit a team that will compete in that division as
well. With the huge
increase in the number of players we are now also setting up
a Supporters Club. Well, a supporters club in the right
sense of the words. We wish for non-playing lovers of soccer
will join the club and get involved with the everyday
administration and fun of the club and the game in general.
This of course to make the club even more attractive and
vibrant. As soon as we have implemented this in the club
charter everyone who wish to be a member of NSSC can,
whether you are a player or not. |
